Eminem`s fame makes it difficult for him to date
The hip-hop superstar - who has been single since splitting from his ex-wife Kimberley Scott - wants to be in a relationship but struggles to meet people because of his celebrity status.
When asked if he dates, he said: "Not really. As far as going out, like dinner and a movie - I just can`t. Going out in public is just too crazy. I mean, I`d like to be in a relationship again someday. Who doesn`t? It`s just hard to meet new people, in my position."
It isn`t just fame which prevents Eminem from finding love, the `Slim Shady` rapper admitted he finds it difficult to trust new people.
The star - real name Marshall Mathers III - explained to Rolling Stone magazine: "I have trust issues. With women, friends, whatever. You always wonder what their real motives are. I`ve got a small circle of friends, and it`s a lot of the same friends I`ve known forever."
Eminem has battled an addiction to prescription drugs in the past and says he is now focusing on keeping himself healthy.
He said: "Right now, that works for me. I came out of some difficult things these past couple of years. I kind of feel like I`m just now finding my footing. So I want to make sure that`s secure before I go out and do anything else. I need to keep working on myself for a while."
Eminem has a 14-year-old daughter Hailie, his child with Kimberley, and two adopted girls Alaina, the child of Kimberley`s sister, and Whitney - Kimberley`s daughter from a previous relationship.
He is also the legal guardian of his younger half-brother Nathan.
